From TaiYo/ArtSu’s instagram @taiyoartsu:
“We’re crowning Havis Amanda on Thursday! In Virtual Reality! Vappu eve 30.4 at 17:45.
.
This Vappu 2020 we @taiyoartsu are responsible for the traditional Crowning of Havis Amanda. We didn’t want the coronavirus situation to stop us from bringing joy to everyone’s Vappu celebrations, so we decided to organise it in an alternative way, entirely in a virtual environment, allowing everyone to follow it safely from their homes.
.
We cooperated with the City of Helsinki (@helsinki) and VR studio Zoan (@zoanvr) to create the experience of the traditional crowning ceremony event in an entirely new and unique manner. And what’s more, viewers can interact and react within the virtual reality, to experience a sense of community. The crowning ceremony can be viewed at http://www.burst.fi and it is a part of the larger Vappu programme offered by the City of Helsinki. The City of @helsinki has published their Vappu at Home programme, check the link in their bio!
.
With the help of the virtual crowning ceremony, we @taiyoartsu would like to remind everyone to celebrate Vappu safely at home, and toast to each other online!
.
